Diana grew up in the suburbs of Northern Virginia next to a 449-acre forest wetland park. She spent a great deal of her childhood playing outdoors. In the summer months, Diana and her friends would hike down to the river bank for a daily adventure of what they called, "Nature Girl". They would walk barefoot, wade through the meandering stream, hunt for butterflies and lightning bugs, discover local wildlife, hop rocks and climb trees, returning home at dusk.
Today, Diana continues to balance the complexities of human life through her strong connection to the natural world and seeks out nature for physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Diana’s yoga journey began in her early 20s seeking ways to transcend the mind and move the body after her first encounter with grief. She completed Part 1 of the Yoga in Daily Life program through the Yoga in Daily Life Center in Alexandria, VA under the guidance of Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda. It was through this program that Diana discovered yoga was not just a physical practice or a space to forget the thinking mind; it is, in fact an inner journey to discover one’s true authentic self.
Since then, Diana has continued to be a dedicated student, exploring the many different styles of yoga through local classes and workshops. It was through her own healing journey after loss that she decided to move deeper into her practice by committing to a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT). She received her 200-hour YTT certification from Holistic Yoga School in 2020 and a 15-hour YTT certification in Trauma-Informed Restorative Yoga in 2023.
Diana believes that yoga is a bridge between the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the self and brings balance and healing to our daily lives.
Diana leads beginner and intermediate classes in hatha vinyasa flow, integrating breath work and intuitive movement that leaves her students feeling nourished and connected. Diana's classes aim to provide each student with the opportunity to explore their own practice, encouraging them to deepen their understanding of the body, mind, and spirit connection as well as connecting to the natural world. With her unique approach and emphasis on alignment, her classes balance movement and stillness so that each student can learn to move safely, consciously, and deliberately.
Diana currently teaches private classes online and in-person in her local community and workplace.
